The Logitech G pro gamer arsenal: every piece, ranked
The Logitech G lineup pros actually use in tournaments — mouse, keyboard, headset, mousepad. Ranked by how much they change your gameplay.
Watch any major esports tournament — CS, Valorant, Apex, League of Legends finals — and count the Logitech G logos. They’re on at least half the pros’ rigs, and the choice isn’t an accident. Here’s the actual lineup, ranked by how much each piece changes your gameplay, with notes on what to buy first if you’re building up from scratch.
1. Mouse — G Pro Hero or G502 X
Your mouse is the single biggest gameplay variable. The G Pro Hero is the tournament-grade choice — the same HERO 25K sensor used in the pro circuit, classic ambidextrous shape, light enough for low-sens flick aim, simple enough that nothing gets in the way of muscle memory. For wireless on the same shape, the G305 LIGHTSPEED runs 250 hours on a single AA — it will outlast your tournament weekend without thinking about it. If you want 13 programmable buttons and a sculpted right-handed grip for MMO or MOBA play, the G502 X with LIGHTFORCE hybrid optical-mechanical switches doesn’t develop double-click drift the way older switches do.
2. Mousepad — G240 Cloth or G440 Hard
A pro-grade mousepad is the cheapest gameplay upgrade you’ll ever make. The G240 Cloth is the soft-surface choice — consistent gliding texture, stitched edges that don’t fray, rubber backing that doesn’t slide. Low-sens FPS players prefer cloth for the controlled stop. The G440 Hard is the polymer-surface alternative — slicker glide, slightly faster flicks, easier to wipe clean. Either one is a real upgrade over whatever pad came with your desk.
3. Keyboard — G515 LIGHTSYNC TKL or G813
The G515 LIGHTSYNC TKL is the tournament-grade keyboard in our lineup — tenkeyless (no number pad to crowd your mouse), low-profile GL switches, per-key LIGHTSYNC RGB, wired USB-C for zero input lag. The G813 LIGHTSYNC is the full-size choice — same GL low-profile mechanical switches, dedicated media keys, LIGHTSYNC RGB across every key. For wireless, the G613 uses LIGHTSPEED with 1 ms response and an 18-month battery.
4. Headset — G Pro X (Blue VO!CE) or G535 LIGHTSPEED
Sound positioning matters more than people realise — hearing footsteps in CS, identifying ult callouts in Valorant, locating a wraith portal in Apex. The G Pro X with Blue VO!CE uses 50 mm PRO-G drivers and Blue VO!CE mic processing — the same gear pros use because it sounds different from consumer-grade. For wireless without sacrificing audio quality, the G535 LIGHTSPEED is the lightest LIGHTSPEED wireless headset Logitech makes — 33 hours of battery on a charge.
5. Streaming camera — C922 Pro Stream
If you stream what you play, the C922 Pro Stream is the camera Logitech literally designed for it — full HD at 60fps for the smooth motion stream viewers expect, dual omnidirectional mics for clean voiceover when your headset is off, and background-replacement support out of the box. Pair it with the Blue VO!CE mic on the G Pro X headset and your stream sounds and looks tournament-grade without a dedicated audio engineer.
What you don’t need (yet)
- A racing wheel for FPS — the G29 and G923 are world-class racing hardware. They are useless for everything else.
- A gamepad for keyboard games — Logitech’s F310 is great for emulation and platformers. It will lose you matches in any competitive FPS.
- A second mouse — pros use one. So should you, until you can articulate exactly what the second one is for.
The build-up order
On a limited budget, build up in this order: mouse → mousepad → headset → keyboard → streaming camera. The first three change your gameplay. The keyboard changes your typing comfort during downtime. The streaming camera is for the day you decide your audience matters more than your win rate.
